Review your edits in Frame.io

Your drafts land in Frame.io, and every change you want goes on the video at the exact second you saw it. No typing timestamps into WhatsApp, no "the bit near the middle". We see it, fix it, and the next version comes back quicker.

The Frame.io link in your welcome email, or frame.io with the login you set up. The phone app works too.

The one habit

Pause where you see the change, comment there, share. That's it. The timestamp is automatic.

Don't rename anything. Folder and file names are how we track every video across both sides.

How it works

Steps 1 to 6

Inside your main folder there's one subfolder per shoot, named with the date backwards then what it was. So a first shoot on 1 July 2025 is 250701 Shoot 1, and a client event that day would be 250701 Client Event. Same name as your finished exports folder in Google Drive, so the two always line up.

  1. Open Frame.io and click your business name.
  2. Open the newest shoot folder. On a monthly plan you may see Week 1 to Week 4 inside it, one folder per posting week.
  3. Leave the names exactly as they are. Renaming a folder or a file is the one thing that can make us lose where we're up to with your content.

Watch it through before you comment. Half the things that feel wrong at ten seconds make sense by thirty, and you'll give better notes when you've seen how it flows as a whole.

While you watch, ask three things

Does it grab attention in the first two seconds? Does it sound and look like your business? Would the person you want as a customer keep watching? Tell us what's working as well as what isn't, it helps the next edit.

  1. Play the video. The moment you see something you want changed, pause.
  2. Click into the comment box under the video, type the change, click Send.It's stamped to that exact second and shows as a dot on the timeline. We click the dot and land right on it.
  3. Want to point at something? Click the pencil or paintbrush icon and draw an arrow, a box or freehand on the frame, then comment as normal.
  4. Carry on playing and repeat for the next one. One comment per change, not one long list at the end.

"Swap this clip for one of the team on site." "Make the text bigger here." "Cut this pause." "Music's too loud under the talking."

Not this

"I don't like this part." "Can it be more punchy?" "Something feels off." We'll have to ask, and that's a day lost.

If you want something of yours popping up in the video, a job photo, a screenshot, a clip from your phone, put it in your Google Drive folder and paste the link in the comment. Don't send it on WhatsApp, it gets compressed and we can't find it later.

  1. Open your Google Drive folder, then Media, then B-Roll.
  2. Upload the file there.
  3. Right click it, Share, Copy link, and paste the link into your Frame.io comment at the second you want it to appear.

Comments on their own don't tell us you've finished looking. The status does. Change it and we know whether to start the revisions or upload the finished video to your Drive.

  1. Click the status button on the video.
  2. Changes to make? Set it to Needs review.
  3. Happy as it is? Set it to Approved. It goes straight into your finished content folder.

Every video gets three rounds of changes. Each new version carries a v2 or v3 in the top corner so you always know which one you're looking at.

  1. Round 1 is for everything, big or small. Music, clip choices, the order, the lot. Get it all in here.
  2. Round 2 is for checking the changes landed and tweaking those. Not for new ideas you didn't mention in round 1.
  3. Round 3 is for the last small things. Fonts, colours, a spelling mistake.
Why it's set up this way

The faster and fuller your round 1 is, the faster the whole thing comes back. A video that gets three thorough comments in one sitting is usually finished within the week. One that gets a new idea every round takes a month.

If you get stuck

I never got a Frame.io login

Check your welcome email for the invite, and junk. If there's nothing, message us and we'll resend it to the address you want.

Can I do this on my phone?

Yes. The Frame.io app is on iPhone and Android and does everything above, including drawing on the frame. Comments are easier to type on a laptop, but for watching and quick notes the phone is fine.

Can my team review too?

Yes. Tell us their name and email and we'll add them. Everyone's comments land on the same video, so you can see what each other has said.

I'd rather just message you the changes

You can, but it's slower for you and for us. A WhatsApp message means we have to guess which second you meant and ask. A Frame.io comment is already on the right frame. If you're ever stuck, send the WhatsApp anyway, a late note beats no note.

Comment where you see it, set the status

That's the whole system. The quicker the changes come back to us, the quicker your content comes back to you.
